The Quick Take
I wished I had this book, or one very much like it, to read earlier in life. Unfortunately, it was only written in 2023. So, I could only go back and supercharge 2 years of life. However, I am amped to do that moving forward. The authors are a right that it's a very counterintuitive process to get into the 10X mindset. I cannot say that I have achieved my 'deliberate' 10Xs yet. They do point out that many of us have 10X'd repeatedly in life without even recognizing that. Ignorance can indeed be bliss! However, now that I have embraced the framework, it has already had a life-altering impact on me and the things I let preoccupy my mind. That change alone has been astonishing. I'm also working on the more material dimensions too. I can say it's almost a guarantee that if you make it through this book, you will be assuring yourself of a different tomorrow!

The Quick Take
Since I decided to make my business support activity more finance focused, I decided, reasonably enough, to immerse myself more fully in finance to be able to hold better conversations with the funders with whom I wish to partner with. I put this book on my list after listening to the author on a podcast. It is a literary tour-de-force that has made so much about finance so much more understandable. Far be it from me to judge, but I think more than Niall's students should be steeped in this. It sets such a high standard to be mandatory reading for every bank VP and accounting graduate pursuing Financial Management accreditation. This book will make you smarter about finance in subtle ways. You will forever be a wiser and better listening, guide, or partner, and anyone whom you have discussion about finance.

The Quick Take
This short guide provides every decision maker, especially significant resource allocators, with a quick and reliable model to address their decisions, confidently. The role of the top-level managers is different from that of the analyst, and that responsibility is front and centre in this primer. SWOT interpretations are always contextual, and can vary widely. What must remain consistent is the fundamental guidance embodied in the SWOT. Those fundamentals are what reliable interpretation and decision quality should evolve from. The companion book, SWOT Like a Pro, Guidebook, provides analysts with the fundamentals of doing effective SWOT analysis. Both books promote the central and essential consideration that a SWOT is always a snapshot. Therefore, the inevitable review that should follow as a normal part of healthy decision-iteration is a core part of the SWOT Like a Pro framework.
